House of Brandenburg-Prussian History

The House of Brandenburg-Prussian History is an exhibition and event venue located in the historic centre of Potsdam at the new market square Neuer Markt. It is considered a forum for active, critical, and open examination of the present and the past. Both the permanent and the temporary special exhibition cover 900 years of regional history with an emphasis on recent contemporary history. The following topics are just a small selection from a wide variety covered in the museum: Brandenburg and its military history, Conflicts and Contradictions – Prussia’s legacy in the 20th century, Nazi dictatorship and the aftermath of the war, GDR, and Brandenburg’s new foundation in 1990.
